Hindsight Mechanical is a growing plumbing, heating, and HVAC/R company based in Quesnel, BC. We serve residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Quesnel, the Cariboo region, and remote communities across British Columbia.

Position Overview

We are currently hiring for multiple HVAC/R positions, with opportunities available for both:

- Local work in Quesnel and the surrounding area.
- Remote project work throughout British Columbia.

Candidates may indicate whether they prefer local work, remote work, or a combination of both. For remote projects, Hindsight Mechanical provides travel compensation and Living Out Allowance (LOA). The primary focus of these positions will be installing heat pumps and air-conditioning systems, including ductwork, refrigerant linesets, condensate piping, controls, and associated equipment. Successful candidates will also be responsible for starting up and commissioning new systems and occasionally completing HVAC/R service calls.

Responsibilities

- Install residential and commercial heat pumps, air conditioners, and HVAC equipment.
- Install refrigerant linesets, condensate piping, controls, equipment pads, and associated components.
- Fabricate, install, modify, and connect sheet-metal ductwork.
- Pressure-test, evacuate, charge, start up, and commission new HVAC systems.
- Verify system operation, airflow, refrigerant charge, temperature differentials, and control functions.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC/R equipment during occasional service calls.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete installation, startup, commissioning, and service documentation.
- Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, general contractors, suppliers, and other Hindsight team members.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and represent Hindsight Mechanical professionally.

Qualifications




- Previous experience installing heat pumps, air-conditioning systems, refrigerant piping, and ductwork.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration principles and proper installation and commissioning procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, airflow, and control-related issues.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a crew.
- Willingness to travel and work on remote projects if applying for a remote position.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
- Gas certification, sheet-metal experience, and additional HVAC/R training are considered assets.

Local Positions Local team members will primarily work in Quesnel and the surrounding area, completing heat-pump installations, HVAC upgrades, new construction, commissioning, and occasional service calls.

Remote Positions

Remote team members will work on commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout British Columbia.

Remote positions include

- Living Out Allowance (LOA).
- Paid or compensated travel.
- Accommodation coordinated or provided depending on the project.
- Opportunities to work on larger and more varied HVAC installations.

What We’re Looking For We’re looking for reliable, motivated, and mechanically capable people who take ownership of their work. You should be comfortable completing a heat-pump installation properly from beginning to end—including ductwork, linesets, startup, commissioning, and explaining the completed system to the customer.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 60.0 per week
