Duties
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to develop and implement individualized support plans for children with disabilities or special needs
- Assist children during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and included in all aspects of learning
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to support children’s language development and social interactions
- Support children’s developmental milestones in areas such as social-emotional skills, communication, and motor skills
- Facilitate positive behavior management strategies that promote respectful interactions and independence
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, challenges, and achievements for ongoing assessment and planning
- Foster an inclusive environment by promoting understanding and acceptance among all children and staff
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in early childhood education settings or similar environments
- Demonstrated experience working with children who have diverse needs, including those with disabilities or in special education programs
- Knowledge of teaching methodologies that support inclusive education practices
- Experience working with individuals who communicate using American Sign Language or other alternative communication methods is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, families, and specialists
- Background in math or early childhood curriculum development is beneficial but not required
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development through engaging, inclusive teaching practices
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
