Rushton Gas & Oil Equipment Ltd. is an Alberta-based manufacturer of skid-mounted oil and gas processing equipment. We are currently seeking a reliable, experienced, and hands-on Industrial Yard Operator / Facility Maintenance person to support our fabrication shop and facility as a key part of our operations team.

This is a wide-ranging position combining yard operations, material handling, equipment operation, and complete facility maintenance. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving large industrial equipment, supplying materials to the shop, diagnosing equipment problems, completing repairs, and helping wherever needed to keep the facility operating safely and efficiently.

We are looking for someone practical, mechanically capable, dependable, and willing to take ownership of a wide range of responsibilities. This position requires a team-first attitude and someone who is equally willing to assist with routine cleanup, repair a piece of shop equipment, or help safely move a 200,000-pound package.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate wheel loaders, forklifts, and other yard equipment to move materials and completed products throughout the facility
- Move steel, pipe, plate, beam, channel, and other materials between the storage yard and fabrication shop
- Supply the fabrication shop with materials as required
- Load and unload materials, equipment, pressure vessels, skids, and completed packages
- Assist with safe rigging and loading plans for large and heavy components weighing up to approximately 200,000 lbs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard, shop, and laydown area




- Take an active role in maintaining and repairing equipment throughout the shop, yard, office, and facility
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild shop equipment, yard equipment, welding machines, power tools, overhead cranes, lifts, rollers, and other facility equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, oil changes, lubrication, and scheduled equipment servicing
- Repair and maintain loaders, forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes, and other mobile equipment
- Complete general building and property maintenance, including lighting, plumbing, sprinklers, doors, and other facility systems
- Assist with sandblasting, shop cleanup, and other operational duties as required
- Source parts and coordinate with outside service providers when a repair requires specialized certification, equipment, or expertise
- Follow all company safety policies and participate in job planning and equipment-movement planning as required

- Genie GS-2669 RT rough-terrain scissor lift
- Grove RT875CC 75-ton rough-terrain mobile crane
- Shop overhead cranes




- Welding machines, fabrication equipment, power tools, and other shop equipment

Qualifications & Experience

- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with overtime as required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proven troubleshooting and repair abilities
- Experience maintaining and repairing industrial, fabrication, construction, agricultural, or heavy equipment
- Able to independently diagnose equipment failures and carry repairs through to completion
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round
- Experience handling steel, pipe, and heavy industrial components
- Familiarity with pipe schedules, pipe grades, structural steel, and pressure-vessel components
- Experience loading and unloading pressure vessels, skids, or modular equipment is an asset
- Wheel loader, forklift, and yard-equipment experience required
- RT crane experience or certification is considered an asset
- Comfortable taking on a broad variety of tasks and assisting wherever needed
- Organized, dependable, resourceful, and able to work effectively as part of a team
