What We're Looking For

We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced Optical Engineer with strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential who will thrive in a dynamic team environment. This position is in the Industrial Machine Vision (IMV) division, located in Montreal, QC, under Data Capture Solutions (DCS) business unit, a world-class leader in innovative data capture, asset intelligence and automation solutions.

The candidate will start as a member of the Hardware Development Team and work on new product developments in the areas of 2D smart cameras, 3D sensors, and LED illumination.

- Fournir un soutien pour la fabrication d'instruments et de produits optiques.
- Faire preuve de jugement dans le choix des méthodes et des techniques pour obtenir des solutions.

- Contributes during all phases of product development including concept generation, design, testing, and implementation
- Builds advanced models on key optical technologies.
- Provides multi-disciplinary support to production by resolving technical issues associated with components, parts, products or systems; testing of new and existing designs and documentation
- Performs system analysis and related analytical modeling on current and prototype designs. May apply quantitative analysis in determining root cause of highly technical problems and propose, develop and implement solutions for corrective action.
- Creates engineering documentation for design of optical instruments.
- Innovates on key optical technologies
- Provides leadership on optical related planning and technical program management.
- Delivers support for manufacturing optical instruments and products.
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
- A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Optical Science and Engineering, Physics Engineering or Physics from an accredited institution in Canada, or a comparable foreign university.
- 6 + years of experience in optical design and testing.
- Experience in COS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) and CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) Image sensor operations is highly preferred.

Preferred Requirements:
- Good programming skills in C, Python, Linux workplace, MATLAB and Zemax simulators.
- Practical knowledge in the design of cameras and use of 3D CAD software.
- Fluency in French is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay Range

$90,960.00 - $136,440.00 Annual

Incentive Compensation

In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
