The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for general ledger, financial reporting, balance sheet and bank reconciliations. This role is expected to work independently, identify and resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate financial records, and provide timely support to management. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced workplace with increased ownership of reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and accounting analysis

Roles & Responsibilities

- Perform daily, monthly, and year-end bank and balance sheet reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Review and reconcile accounts receivable activity, apply customer payments accurately in the ERP system, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain accurate customer records.
- Review accounts payable transactions, process invoices, assist with payment runs, and investigate discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving records, invoices, and vendor statements.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other accounting entries, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation and accurate account coding.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules for assigned general ledger accounts.
- Take an active role in month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules, and meeting established deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain the weekly working capital report and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring information is complete and accurate.
- Identify process issues, discrepancies,



and opportunities for improvement and work with the Accounting Manager and other departments to resolve them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience working in a manufacturing, retail, distribution, or other multi-department environment.
- CPA designation or interest in pursuing a professional accounting designation
- Experience using a corporate ERP systems and skills in analyzing large sets of data.
- Minimum of intermediate proficiency with SQL Query development using Excel and intermediate proficiency with Power BI

Specific Skills

- Experience with Manufacturing ERP systems, SQL, Power BI development and financial reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to work with formulas, reconciliations, and financial data.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and take ownership of assigned accounting functions.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with Finance, Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and other departments.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information with a high level of detail accuracy
- Highly detail oriented with exceptional analytical and organization skills
