International Collaboration Liaison

Position: International Collaboration Liaison (Job Creation Partnership Program)

Hours: 35hrs a week

Duration: 52 Weeks

Compensation: $729/week

Location: In-office, St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador

About Opera on the Avalon

Opera on the Avalon (OOTA) is Atlantic Canada’s only professional opera company, based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. OOTA produces live opera, digital and film projects, and programming that supports emerging artists. The organization works with a wide range of artists, organizations, and partners both locally and internationally.

Position Overview

Opera on the Avalon is seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual to support the coordination of a variety of projects and partnerships.

This position will provide administrative, communication, research, and project coordination support across OOTA’s activities. The successful candidate will work with staff, artists, community organizations, and external partners to help ensure projects are well organized, communicated, and completed on schedule.

This is a varied role that offers the opportunity to gain experience in arts administration, project coordination, partnerships, communications, and the development of creative projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Administrative Support

· Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating projects and activities.

· Track schedules, deadlines, documents, and project details.

· Help maintain organized records and project information.

· Assist with general administrative duties as required.

Communication & Coordination

· Communicate with artists, partners, organizations, and other stakeholders.

· Help coordinate meetings, schedules, and project-related communications.

· Prepare emails, correspondence, notes, and other materials.

· Help ensure information is shared clearly and in a timely manner.

Research & Development

· Research potential partners, opportunities, events,



festivals, and resources.

· Assist with gathering information and preparing summaries and materials.

· Support the development of new projects, partnerships, and opportunities.

Event & Production Support

· Assist with scheduling and logistical planning for productions, events, and projects.

· Help coordinate travel, accommodations, meetings, and other arrangements when required.

· Provide administrative and organizational support before, during, and after events and productions.

Funding & Reporting Support

· Assist with grant applications, reports, budgets, and supporting documentation.

· Track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.

· Help prepare updates and information for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

· Robust organizational and time-management skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.

· Experience with administrative, project, event, or office work is an asset.

· Interest in the arts, culture, community development, or creative industries is an asset.

· Willingness to learn new skills and take on a variety of responsibilities.
