The Inventory Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through verification and maintenance of internal record systems. This role supports inventory control activities, including physical counts, cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and data entry to ensure inventory accuracy across the facility.
The Inventory
Associate works closely with Operations, Logistics, Production, Accounting, and Quality teams to support daily transactions, production requirements, and inventory-related projects.
This is a hands-on warehouse position that requires regular movement of inventory throughout the facility using material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. Forklift operation is an important aspect of the role, and candidates with current forklift certification and experience are strongly preferred.
Note: This is a physically demanding role that requires lifting, moving, and organizing inventory, including handling items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Position Overview
- Coordinate counts for packaging components and update inventory records as needed.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Assist with production planning by monitoring inventory levels and coordinating material requirements.
- Move, stage, organize, and replenish inventory using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Monitor delivery dates and inventory availability to support operational schedules.
- Ensure inventory is stored in designated locations and properly labeled according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions and ensure ERP/WMS systems are updated in a timely manner.
- Monitor daily receipts and verify all inventory data entry is complete and accurate.
- Oversee inventory levels across warehouse locations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain physical inventory organization and compliance with current standards and specifications.
- Adhere to all warehouse, inventory control, health and safety, and quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous inventory control, warehouse, or inventory management experience required.
- Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting required.
- Valid forklift certification is considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Dynamics 365, or similar).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
- Minimum high school diploma; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs safely and consistently throughout the workday.
