We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Associate to support inventory accuracy, cycle counting, stock verification, and warehouse organization at our Woodbridge facility.

Position Overview The Inventory Associate is responsible for supporting accurate inventory control by verifying physical stock against Warehouse Management System (WMS) records, performing cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, supporting audits, and ensuring products are stored safely and correctly.

This is a hands-on warehouse position requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food distribution setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with Warehouse Supervisors, Inventory personnel, receiving, shipping, and other warehouse employees to maintain reliable inventory records and support efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Cycle Counting

- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts according to established inventory schedules.
- Verify physical inventory against WMS records and report discrepancies promptly.
- Conduct recounts, stock checks, and inventory audits to support inventory accuracy.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and annual inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory movement and ensure transactions and physical stock remain aligned.
- Support inventory accuracy targets and identify recurring discrepancies.

Inventory Variance Investigation

- Investigate inventory differences related to receiving, shipping, damages, mis-picks, stock movement, or system errors.
- Review product quantities, locations, and transactions to identify possible causes of variances.
- Communicate discrepancies and findings to the Warehouse Supervisor, Inventory Lead, or Management.
- Support corrective actions required to improve inventory accuracy.
- Escalate unresolved or significant inventory issues promptly.

Product & Location Verification

- Ensure products are stored in designated pick, reserve, and storage locations.
- Verify product descriptions, quantities, lot/batch information, and warehouse locations where required.




- Monitor product locations and support accurate replenishment and picking.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly arranged warehouse locations.
- Identify misplaced products and support correction of location errors.

Product Condition & Stock Rotation

- Identify and report damaged, expired, obsolete, or otherwise non-conforming products.
- Segregate affected products according to company procedures.
- Monitor product rotation and support FIFO/FEFO requirements where applicable.
- Identify products requiring review due to damage, expiry, temperature sensitivity, or storage concerns.
- Support accurate product handling and inventory control throughout the warehouse.

WMS & Warehouse Systems

- Use WMS, RF scanners, and related systems to verify inventory and product locations.
- Record inventory counts and related information accurately.
- Assist with investigation of system-related inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure inventory information is entered and maintained accurately.
- Use email, Microsoft Office, and other systems as required for inventory reporting and communication.

Food Safety & Workplace Safety

- Follow company food safety requirements, warehouse procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensure products are handled, stored, and maintained in accordance with applicable food-safety requirements.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and Ontario workplace safety requirements.
- Use required PPE and follow safe material-handling procedures.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged products, spills, hazards, or equipment concerns immediately.
- Maintain clean and safe warehouse work areas.

Communication & Continuous Improvement

- Communicate inventory concerns, discrepancies, product damage, and location issues clearly and promptly.
- Work collaboratively with receiving, shipping, picking, replenishment, and warehouse supervision.
- Provide accurate information to support resolution of inventory concerns.
- Recommend practical improvements to inventory control, product organization, and warehouse efficiency.
- Follow established SOPs and assist with improvements to inventory procedures where required.




- Perform other related warehouse and inventory duties assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Experience

- 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, cycle counting, receiving, shipping, or related warehouse functions.
- Hands-on experience performing physical inventory counts and verifying system inventory.
- Experience identifying and investigating inventory discrepancies.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, CPG, wholesale, or a similar warehouse environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is preferred.
- Experience using RF scanners or other warehouse inventory devices.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and related applications.
- Ability to accurately count, verify, record, and reconcile inventory information.
- Ability to identify inventory discrepancies and communicate findings clearly.

- Comfortable working throughout warehouse storage, picking, receiving, and shipping areas.
