XPV Water Partners is seeking an Investment Intern to support a variety of projects across the firm, with a primary focus on the Investment Team. You will conduct research, perform analysis, support investment projects, and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and technology to improve workflows, generate insights, and elevate the quality of work.

With over US$1 billion in Assets Under Management, XPV partners with innovative water-related companies to accelerate growth, create value, and contribute to a more water-secure future.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in private equity investing while working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial workplace.

Responsibilities

- Conducting market research, industry analysis, and company research to evaluate potential investment opportunities.
- Supporting investment opportunities from initial research through due diligence and execution.
- Supporting the development of investment materials such as presentations, investment memos, and other decision-support materials.
- Partnering with teams across the firm, including Sustainability, Operations, Marketing, and Talent to support cross-functional projects and contribute to firm-wide initiatives.
- Researching, identifying, testing, and implementing AI-enabled tools, automation, and technology solutions that help the firm work smarter, improve workflows, generate insights, and increase productivity.
- Contributing to additional firm-wide projects and strategic initiatives assigned.

Experience & Education

- Strong academic performance (GPA above 3.00+) with a background in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, STEM, or a related field.




- Previous internship experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, search funds or another relevant field. Experience with financial modelling is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools, automation platforms, coding tools, or data analysis tools.
- Evidence of achievement outside the classroom through one or more of the following:
- Entrepreneurial or founder experience.
- Leadership roles in student-run clubs, organizations, student government, or competitions.
- Active participation in investment clubs, finance clubs, or entrepreneurship groups.
- Competitive athletics or other high-performance pursuits.
- Meaningful work, volunteer, or community leadership experience.

Skills & Characteristics

- Highly proficient with AI, automation, and technology, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities where these tools can create actionable insights and enhance productivity.
- Strong problem-solving, and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Demonstrated passion for investing and entrepreneurship with a strong interest in water and sustainability.
- Naturally curious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is committed to continuous learning and improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Perseveres through challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
