We're growing our IT & Security team and looking for an IT Systems & Security Administrator to take ownership of day-to-day security operations and act as the senior escalation point for IT support. This is a role split evenly between hands-on security administration (Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID) and L2/L3 technical support, working alongside our Systems Technician and reporting directly to the IT Security Manager.

You'll be the person who keeps our Microsoft 365 security posture tight day-to-day; triaging Defender alerts, hunting and tuning detections in Sentinel, administering Purview policies, managing Intune-enrolled Mac and Windows endpoints - while also stepping in on the escalated support issues our Systems Technician can't resolve alone. This is a great fit for someone who wants real ownership of enterprise security tooling without the on-call weight of a senior/lead role.

Responsibilities:

Security Administration (~50%)

- Monitor and triage alerts in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across Windows and Mac devices
- Monitor, tune, and respond to alerts in Microsoft Sentinel; author and maintain KQL-based analytics rules, hunting queries, and workbooks
- Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Security Copilot, Copilot for M365) to accelerate alert triage, investigation, and documentation
- Administer Microsoft Purview policies - data loss prevention, retention, and information protection labels
- Manage Entra ID:



conditional access policies, access reviews, group and role assignments
- Maintain Intune device compliance and configuration policies across Mac and Windows devices.
- Support quarterly access reviews and audit evidence collection.
- Build and maintain Power Automate workflows for security and IT operations tasks
- Assist with SharePoint, Exchange, and Teams security and governance configuration

IT Support (~50%)

- Serve as the L2/L3 escalation point for issues the Systems Technician cannot resolve
- Own technically complex onboarding/offboarding scenarios (e.g., conditional access edge cases, device enrollment issues)
- Partner with the Systems Technician on process improvement for L1/L2 ticket handling
- Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 service issues across Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
- Document runbooks and knowledge base articles to reduce repeat escalations

Skills and Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 / Entra ID environments
- Practical experience with Intune device management across both Windows and macOS
- Working experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint or a comparable EDR platform
- Comfort operating in a regulated or compliance-sensitive setting
- Strong L2/L3 troubleshooting skills and experience mentoring or escalating for junior support staff
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel (or a comparable SIEM) - writing KQL queries, tuning analytics rules, and triaging incidents
- Practical,



hands-on experience using AI tools to support IT/security workflows (e.g., alert triage, scripting, documentation)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)

Nice to have:

- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview DLP and retention policy administration
- ITIL Foundation or exposure to formal ticketing/change management processes
- Experience in online gaming, gambling, fintech, or another highly regulated industry
