JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

About the Role

Shaun Lipsey & Co. is looking for a motivated and creative Junior Interior Designer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging designer who wants hands-on experience working on beautiful residential projects while learning alongside an experienced design team.

We're looking for someone who has a great eye for design, takes initiative, is eager to learn, and understands that successful interior design requires just as much organization and attention to detail as creativity.

Responsibilities

- Assist the design team with residential projects from concept through installation
- Support the creation of mood boards, presentations, finish palettes, and design concepts
- Assist with floor plans, elevations, and technical drawings
- Source furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, materials, and finishes
- Request pricing, samples, specifications, and lead times from vendors
- Maintain project specifications, schedules, and design documentation
- Assist with procurement and order tracking
- Organize samples and the design library
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and installations as required
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, trades, and other project partners
- Assist with styling and project installations
- Provide day-to-day support to the senior design team

Qualifications





- Diploma or degree in Interior Design or a related field
- 0–2 years of professional design experience
- Strong design aesthetic and enthusiasm for residential interiors
- Working knowledge of relevant drafting/design software
- Basic understanding of construction drawings, space planning, materials, and finishes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Professional written and verbal communication
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and receive feedback
- Positive, proactive, team-oriented attitude
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who wants to build a career in interior design, not simply fill a position. You don't need to know everything—we're looking for curiosity, initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.

You'll have the chance to gain experience across many areas of the design process, including concept development, sourcing, technical documentation, site coordination, procurement, and installation.
