We take a wholistic approach to municipal transportation infrastructure projects that minimizes the environmental footprint, promotes sustainable growth, and supports resilient communities.Our innovative solutions integrate all modes of transportation, so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists co-exist safely and travel efficiently.The Lead Engineer - Roadway Design will act as the Roadway Design Lead on major transportation projects, supporting the successful delivery of complex provincial (MTO) and municipal roadway assignments from preliminary through detailed design. You will lead civil roadway components on projects such as freeways, urban and rural highways, interchanges, and intersections,
while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, utilities, and municipal services.
Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion. Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design. Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
Perform quality control reviews on plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer. Conduct initial site inspections and support constructability reviews. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams. Support business development initiatives including client relationship management, proposal development, interview presentations, and major project pursuits. Stay current with evolving CAD and roadway design tools and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional
Engineer (P.in Ontario (or immediately eligible). Minimum 15+ years of roadway/highway design experience. Proven experience working with MTO and/or municipal clients. Strong knowledge of highway engineering standards, policies, and guidelines.
Demonstrated detailed design experience on complex projects. Extensive knowledge in Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer. At CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective.
