As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Must be able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally and emotionally) on this very busy fast paced unit. Must be able to push, pull and lift at least 50 lbs and have the endurance to. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients.
You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. Criminal records check with vulnerable sector check for external applicants within the last 90 days. Proficient written and verbal communication skills required.
Strong critical thinking skills and experience with team nursing.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference given to those who have completed their suite of Indigenous Awareness learning and other required education, experience working with CoACT elements of care. Experience working with patients with strokes, dementia, delirium, and behavioral challenges is considered an asset. Connect Care training is preferred.
