Your Prospect
Join the Short Stay Surgery Unit at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) — a Level 1 Trauma Center and one of Canada’s leading clinical, research, and teaching hospitals. As part of the Adult Operative Services portfolio, you’ll work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team preparing patients for scheduled surgery and providing phase 2 post-anesthetic care to post-operative ambulatory patients. This fast-paced, dynamic unit is a great place to build broad surgical nursing experience — spanning specialties from Neurosurgery and Ortho Trauma to Transplant and Spine — while helping deliver safe, high-quality, family-centred care.
You’ll collect and track patient health data from pre-op through discharge, and have the opportunity to precept new staff and students along the way. Staggered start times across days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Occasional extended shifts.
