TalentSphere is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established building products retailer in the GTA for a Counter Sales Associate specializing in Lumber & Hardware. This is a solid opportunity for a knowledgeable sales professional with experience serving contractors and customers in the building materials industry.

About The Role We are seeking a Counter Sales qualified with experience in lumber, hardware, and building products. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at a busy sales counter, assisting contractors and retail customers, and providing accurate product knowledge and recommendations. Candidates with previous experience at Rona, Home Depot (Contractor Desk), or similar building supply environments are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide knowledgeable sales support and product recommendations for lumber, hardware, and related building materials
- Serve contractors and walk-in customers efficiently and professionally at the sales counter
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regular contractor accounts
- Achieve or exceed individual sales targets
- Maintain accurate knowledge of inventory, pricing, product specifications, and current promotions
- Assist with order processing, stock checks,



and general counter operations
- Collaborate with the team to deliver a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

- Previous sales experience in lumber, hardware, or building products (retail or contractor-focused preferred)
- Strong product knowledge and the ability to advise both contractors and retail customers
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy counter/sales environment
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work 44 hours per week in the GTA
- Experience working with contractors is a strong asset

Ideal Background Candidates currently or previously employed at Rona, Home Depot (especially Contractor Desk), or similar lumber yards / building supply retailers in the GTA are highly encouraged to apply.
