Overview The Machine Shop Labourer supports the day-to-day operations of the Machine Shop. This role operates machinery and equipment and performs a variety of manual tasks such as machine support, basic assembly, and general housekeeping.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assemble plugs, stems, and other components to support production.
- Assist machinists with minor machining tasks.
- Unload incoming materials and supplies from trucks.
- Cut materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Empty chip bins and manage scrap material disposal.
- Operate shop equipment including bandsaw, arbor press, and drill press.
- Operate forklift and overheard crane.
- General housekeeping to maintain a clean shop.
- Assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in manufacturing or machine shop is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and proficient with hand and power tools.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Forklift certification (training is provided).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Salary: Starts at $22.50/hr, increases based off skills and experience.

Work Schedule: Full-time and permanent position. Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm. Overtime may be required.
