It’s an exciting time to join the team at Hydro One! Support the Director Sourcing in effectively planning, managing, monitoring and controlling the execution of the Sourcing function within the Supply Chain Services business unit. Develop the long-term Sourcing Plan forecast models for Hydro One’s set of critical materials in support of the 5-yr Investment Plan Proposal and secure these materials through strategic alliances with suppliers.

Manage and lead the tactical forecast development process and ensure consensus is reached on forecast volumes each month. Minimize forecast error, ensure on-time secured availability of materials and achieve optimal purchase price standards for the Corporation. Develop strategies and policies in the areas of strategic sourcing and/or material forecasting as they relate to the Investment Plan Proposal.

Conduct market intelligence on key suppliers; establish a robust supplier and materials portfolio management and performance standard data set for the critical materials utilized in the Corporation. Establish the supplier selection criteria to be used in evaluating critical materials RFx bids and manage the strategic alliances required to secure availability of same. Represent the corporation in strategic alliance supplier relationships and Utilities forums, consistent with Supply Chain goals and strategic objectives.

Support the Director of Sourcing in effectively planning, managing, monitoring and controlling the execution of all aspects of the Sourcing work, including contributions to the Company’s Investment Plan Proposal. This will include management of forecasts, delivery, quality, and performance issues and the negotiation of damages with suppliers as appropriate. Having these sourcing contracts in place is critical to the Business Plan and the delivery of future work programs and could involve contracts ranging from $10-200 million and this position will be empowered to negotiate and commit the corporation to long-term contracts to strategic suppliers for critical material needs in support of the Business Plan.

Develop and manage the key suppliers’ performance through establishing a robust supplier and materials portfolio management system for the critical materials utilized in the corporation. This position will establish optimal purchase price standards on these critical materials and provide market intelligence and decide the approval, discontinuance and ongoing evaluation of suppliers of Hydro One materials. Enact commitments on behalf of Hydro One to suppliers as part of a strategic alliance for critical materials in order to adopt a course of action that is suitable for the Company.

Develop and recommend sourcing strategies and policies to optimize material lifecycle cost reductions, secure the availability of materials, monitor and act on improving order fill rates with suppliers and manage the supplier partnership commitments. Identify and assess current and future needs for policy and strategy. Develop supply chain investment plans and bring forward supply chain business cases which will impact success of company being able to deliver on required work programs.

Develop supplier contract renewal program,



manage and approve strategic RFx’s for partnerships with suppliers. Manage and approve commercial contracts commitment details for strategic suppliers. Establish and manage the supplier selection criteria to be used in evaluating critical materials RFP bids and establish the strategic alliances and long-term contracts required to secure availability of same.

Manage forecast error and authorize changes to the statistical forecast models that drive the strategic procurement of critical materials in support of the Business Plan including developing the BCS for submission to senior management for the forecasted material plan, on an annual basis. Grid Ops, E&CS;, Asset Mgmt, Customer Ops, Finance, Inergi, etc.) to develop a consensus demand plan and provide market intelligence and standards changes in jointly creating asset strategies that reflect the global market trends. Develop and manage the long-term sourcing forecast models for Hydro One’s set of critical materials and secure these materials through strategic alliances with suppliers.

Manage and develop long-term confidential tactical forecasts for inclusion into partnership contracts with strategic suppliers and risk mitigation to the Business Plan and preparation of materials for Senior Management and Hydro One Board of Directors Authorize the automatic replenishment model to be used for key stock items stored in the Barrie Warehouse in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager. Manage performance metrics and reports (new, derived from SAP) for SLA monitoring and performance feedback with Inergi LP.

One as a management representative in the Canadian Utilities Supply Chain forum.

One with suppliers, other utilities and key stakeholders inside and outside of Canada as required to foster and develop continuous improvement initiatives in the Sourcing area and for the exchange of data and consultation in areas of mutual interests. In addition, integrate the recommendations into the overall strategies, policies and forecasting in Hydro One’s Supply Chain Services vision. Manage staffing needs, interview/selection process, staff development and adherence to HR/Corporate policies and administer department budget. monitor work progress and quality; conduct performance reviews and provide direction on problem areas.

Participate in the development of Sourcing positions to influence the evolution of forecasting in order that the Company is appropriately positioned to compete global on material portfolio management and strategic sourcing requirements. Participate in meeting legal, regulatory and Bill 198 requirements by developing information related to Supply Chain strategies, policies and service standards, as required to support submissions to the Regulator. Advise on implications of investment decisions, strategic direction and business planning across Asset Management, particularly in movement toward global standardization and compatible units adoption.

Assess and advise on opportunities and liabilities that could have an impact on asset value and lifecycle cost. Provide management direction to staff doing the detailed work related to the Sourcing Plan, schedule and assign the work with instructions, provide advice and guidance,



and check the work to maintain quality, accuracy and productivity. Manage the unit and achieve the targeted results through diligent and accurate oversight of the financial aspects of the department.

Provide staffing recommendations for their function as requirements and objectives evolve, especially in the face of recent projects. Conduct personal effectiveness reviews of subordinates specialists to build relationships and trust, and to improve effectiveness Advocate the acquisition of appropriate tools and skills to optimize the performance of staff. Mentor, counsel and foster the personal development of all subordinates.

Set the appropriate context for subordinates (i.e. corporate strategies and policies, accountabilities, tasks, budget and programs, compliance and performance targets, expectations for continuous improvement, etc.) Set an effective framework of policies and procedures for the work of the unit Know and ensure own and subordinates’ compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and all corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted practices relating to the work of the unit Establish a two-way working relationship with subordinates to solicit their views on conditions and potential changes affecting their work, and continuous improvement opportunities. Translate the corporate goals and objectives into a direction which guides the work of the unit Provide a work environment and facilities where health and safety incidents are minimized Provide a work environment that supports and values diversity, and is free from harassment Know and ensure subordinates comply with all legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, and generally accepted practices relating to their work Demonstrate stewardship of the assets and resources: Ensure the permeation of sound decision making within the department governed by an appreciation of the corporate context.
