The Opportunity
We are looking for a Materials Compliance & Document Specialist/Quality Engineer to ensure pressure-containing materials are correctly specified, purchased, verified, traceable, and documented in accordance with applicable codes, client specifications, and quality requirements.
This role serves as the technical link between Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, suppliers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve Material Test Reports (MTRs) and Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
- Verify compliance with purchase orders, drawings, bills of materials, and applicable codes.
- Maintain heat number traceability throughout manufacturing and testing processes.
- Coordinate material deviations, concessions, and corrective actions.
- Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring.
- Review procurement specifications and inspection requirements.
- Compile and submit Manufacturing Data Records (MDRs) and quality documentation packages.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, laboratories, inspectors, and clients.
- Ensure documentation compliance and quality record integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Materials, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Welding Engineering preferred.
- Relevant engineering technology diploma with significant industry experience may be considered.
- 5-10 years of experience in materials compliance, pressure equipment, welding quality, metallurgy, pipeline fabrication, or related industries.
- Knowledge of CSA, ASME, API, ASTM, EN, and NACE standards.
- Experience reviewing MTRs, quality records, and client data books.
Preferred Certifications
- API, CWB, AWS, IWE/IWT, ASQ, NACE/AMPP, or similar industry credentials.
