Guelph

We design and build machine guarding and industrial retrofits for automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing clients across Ontario. We need a Mechanical Engineer to own the technical side of that work: risk assessments, standards compliance, engineering review of our technologists' designs, and direct technical conversations with clients — real design authority, not a review-and-forward role.

Where You'll Work

This role is based out of our Guelph office, with a healthy mix of office time and time in the field. You'll be on the road several days a week for site engineering, installation reviews, and commissioning support — trips to client facilities across the GTA (including Mississauga) and Southwestern Ontario, generally as day trips from Guelph. It's a excellent fit if you like variety and want to see your designs through to the plant floor, not just on a screen.

A valid driver's license is required; company pool vehicles are available for business trips, so you won't need to put miles on your own vehicle.

Who You'll Work With

You'll report to the Director of Engineering and work alongside industrial electricians, electrical engineers, and mechanical technologists on projects that run from first concept through final commissioning.

What You'll Work On

- Machine guarding, safeguarding, and retrofit design across automotive, aerospace, robotics, and general manufacturing clients
- Risk assessments and safety analysis against CSA Z432, ISO 13849, ISO 12100, and ANSI B11
- Engineering review and sign-off on SolidWorks designs produced by our technologist team
- Client-facing technical consultation — translating safety requirements into buildable mechanical solutions
- Site assessments, commissioning support,

and field verification of installed safeguards
- Mentoring technologists and reviewing their design work

What You Bring

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- P.Eng. licensed in Ontario — recent grads (EIT) actively working toward P.Eng. are welcome to apply
- Strong SolidWorks proficiency
- Working knowledge of machine safety standards (CSA Z432, ISO 13849, ISO 12100, or equivalent)
- Comfort working in industrial and manufacturing environments
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within Ontario — company pool vehicles are available for business trips (see “Where You'll Work” above)

Nice to Have

- Prior experience in machine guarding, robotics, automation, material handling, racks, cranes, or industrial retrofit work
- Experience conducting formal risk assessments or safety audits
