About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Music Teacher/Therapist to support our ASD students through the love of music. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a strong background in music education. This role involves facilitating weekly group music sessions as well as providing individual keyboard lessons.

Sessions are conducted at our Brampton centre and in clients' homes.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement engaging music lessons tailored to each student's needs and abilities.
- Lead individual and group music sessions.
- Teach keyboard and other foundational music skills.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and support needs.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, participation, and skill development through music.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to families and team members.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications
- Experience working with children,



preferably individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Strong background in music education and instruction.
- Proficiency in playing musical instruments, particularly keyboard/piano.
- Ability to read and teach basic sheet music.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in music therapy.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) background.
- Teaching, tutoring, or instructional experience.
- Experience facilitating group activities and programs.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour
