The Empowering Steps Therapy Clinic located at Club Aviva is seeking a registered Occupational Therapist, who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young adults with support needs. Many of our clients are neurodiverse living with all varieties of disabilities and developmental delays. Our unique gymnastics environment allows our clients to realize their physical capabilities using all the equipment available within the facility.

Our program is evidenced based and uses a Developmental Social Pragmatic approach for all one-to-one therapy sessions.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide a fun, inclusive environment rich in sensory motor activities to allow neurodiverse children to improve motor ability, foster trust, improve relationships, develop social interaction, and build a sense of community. We aim to provide children and youth with developmental or intellectual disabilities various therapeutic and customized support services to assist them and their families in achieving the highest possible level of community involvement and personal functioning.

In the heart of Coquitlam, conveniently near coffee shops and on a bus route, with on site parking available.

The Position

Schedule: We’re looking for an energetic and experienced pediatric physiotherapist to join our team. We are a busy clinic with over 100 regular clients and we are open 7 days/week, allowing for some flexibility in your schedule. As part of Club Aviva,



we also have athletes involved in instructional, developmental, and competitive artistic and trampoline programs who may book a private physiotherapy session.

Our Team: We have a large team of therapists including a Speech and Language Pathologist, Board Certified ABA Consultant and Counsellor along with our team of ES therapists. Our ES therapists are extensively trained in-house and many are registered kinesiologists. The Occupational Therapist will have opportunities to collaborate with the Empowering Steps team and other professionals to develop and implement integrated therapy programs that support each client's individual goals.

Experience: All experience levels are welcome with a current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). We also may able to assist you in becoming qualified to be on the RASP list. Experience with working with children with autism and other neurodiverse disabilities is considered an asset.

Compensation: We offer full time positions rates range from $40-70, dependent on level of experience.
