We are hiring experienced Outdoor Power Equipment technicians for our service shops throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Pay is $45.00 - 60.00 for every billable hour you produce.
Compensation
- $45.00 - 60.00 per billable hour
- Full-time, year-round work
- Earnings track productivity: a tech averaging 6.5–7.5 billable hours per day is in a strong pay range
- Hours worked are still subject to B.C. Employment Standards (minimum wage floor of $18.25/hr if billed hours are low)
The work Diagnose, repair, service, and assemble outdoor power equipment, including:
- Gas and battery handhelds (saws, blowers, trimmers, hedge)
- Walk-behind and zero-turn mowers
- Robotic mowers
- Snow plows and salters
- PDI / setup of new units
You will complete work orders accurately, document parts and labour, and keep quality and safety standards high.
What we need
- Proven OPE / small-engine / power-equipment repair experience
- Must supply your own tools
- Valid Class 5 licence and reliable transportation between Lower Mainland shops if required
- Ability to work independently and hit billable-hour targets
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Clear communication and clean work habits
- Comfortable with gas, battery, and basic electrical diagnostics
Asset: experience with Stihl, Kress, Toro, Echo, Husqvarna,
or snow brands (Boss, Western, SnowEx, Fisher, Meyer, SnowDogg).

Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled and reliable Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE) Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power equipment. If you're passionate about working with small engines and enjoy solving mechanical issues, we want to hear from you.
Successful candidate must also have good working knowledge of electrical and comfortable working on ever growing segment of battery powered equipment. Preferred but not required would be ability to work and diagnose snow plow and salter equipment with basic knowledge of hydraulics
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair small engine equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, etc.).
Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups on various small engines.
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Replace defective parts and make necessary adjustments to ensure high performance.
Provide accurate cost estimates.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Keep detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training in OPE or equivalent repair is a plus).
Proven experience in small engine repair and maintenance.
Strong mechanical skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools safely.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as OPE repair technician or in a related field (e.g., automotive repair, power equipment maintenance).
Experience with diagnosing and repairing common small engines, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, snow blowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.
Familiarity with various tools and diagnostic equipment used in small engine repair.
Experience with routine maintenance and repair procedures for both two-stroke and four-stroke engines is highly preferred.
