About us

Villa St-Luc and Centre d'Accueil Mon Chez Nous are locally owned, RHRA-licensed retirement residences serving the francophone and bilingual communities of Prescott-Russell. With more than 15 years of care between them, both homes are small enough that every resident is known by name. Mon Chez Nous sits on the Ottawa River with views across to the Gatineau Hills; Villa St-Luc offers spacious grounds in the heart of Curran. Both are steps from the local parish and deeply tied to their villages.

We are not a chain. Decisions get made here, quickly, by people you'll speak with directly.

What success looks like in your first year

Twelve months in, you know both homes inside out. Schedules are set well in advance and coverage is steady. Residents are settled and well cared for, staff are engaged and growing in their roles, and families know they can reach you and get an answer the same day. Vendor relationships are strong and accounts run on a predictable cycle. Our compliance records are organized and current, so inspections are routine. You've built on what already works here and made it run even more smoothly.

What you'll own

Scheduling and staffing

- Build and publish staff schedules across both residences — personal support workers, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and activities — with proper coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays
- Manage vacation requests, sick calls, and leaves; maintain a reliable call-in list so shifts get covered without repeated overtime
- Track hours, approve timesheets, and hand off clean payroll input
- Run recruitment for front-line roles: posting, screening, interviewing, reference and vulnerable sector checks, and onboarding

Leading and developing the team

- Supervise front-line staff at both sites, set clear expectations,

and give feedback that people can act on
- Deliver and document required staff training — resident rights, abuse and neglect reporting, emergency and fire procedures, infection prevention and control, food safety, and workplace health and safety
- Coach through conflict, run team huddles, and handle performance issues fairly and on the record

Communication, inside and out

- Serve as the main point of contact for residents and their families — questions, concerns, care updates, and the conversations that need a calm, patient voice
- Handle correspondence, notices, memos, and meeting minutes in both French and English
- Keep ownership informed with a regular operational update: occupancy, staffing, incidents, spending, and anything on the horizon

Regulatory and compliance support

- Work with ownership to keep both residences compliant with the Retirement Homes Act, 2010 and RHRA requirements, and support licence renewals, inspections, and any follow-up
- Maintain incident reports, resident records, and mandatory reporting obligations accurately and on time
- Coordinate with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, the fire department, Ministry of Labour, and other agencies — including fire drills, emergency plan testing, and food safety requirements
- Keep policy manuals, training records, and compliance documentation current and audit-ready

Vendors, purchasing, and accounts

- Manage relationships with food suppliers, laundry, maintenance and trades, medical supply, waste, IT, and pharmacy
- Review and approve invoices, negotiate renewals, and flag cost issues before they become surprises
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, including resident billing and collections follow-up
- Track operating spending against budget and support ownership on annual planning

Systems and technology

- Run the day-to-day on modern tools — scheduling software, email and calendar, accounting software, shared document storage, and resident management systems
- Move manual processes onto systems where it saves time, and get staff comfortable using them

What we're looking for

Required

- Fluent in French and English, spoken and written — most residents, families, and staff work primarily in French
- Experience supervising a team, with direct responsibility for scheduling and staff coverage
- Comfortable and confident with technology: scheduling tools, spreadsheets, email, cloud file storage, and accounting or billing software
- Sound judgment with money — reviewing invoices, controlling spending, following up on receivables
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly with seniors and with families navigating a difficult transition
- Genuinely organized: able to hold many moving pieces, set priorities, and close things out without being chased
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable vehicle — the two residences are about 25 minutes apart
- Transparent vulnerable sector police record check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred

- Experience in a retirement home, long-term care home, or other regulated care setting
- Working knowledge of the Retirement Homes Act, 2010 and RHRA licensing requirements
- Familiarity with the Employment Standards Act, occupational health and safety, and infection prevention and control practices
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Post-secondary education in business, health administration, gerontology, or a related field — equivalent hands-on experience is equally welcome

What we offer
- A direct line to ownership and real authority over how the homes are run
- Two small, established residences with strong community roots — not a corporate portfolio
- A role you will shape rather than one you inherit
- Room to grow professionally, with broad exposure across operations, people leadership, finance, and regulatory work
- $40,000 – $45,000 per year, plus a performance-based bonus

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
