The Peer Support
Assistant position is centered around aiding students registered with Student Accessibility Services. You will provide essential support in time management, campus resource navigation, and peer group engagement. This role is key in fostering a welcoming environment that promotes independence and successful transitions for students with disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer-to-peer support in SAS study spaces
- Assist students with task management and transitions
- Lead small group sessions on study skills
- Encourage interaction and community among SAS participants
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and attendance
Requirements:
- Lived experience of disability or academic accommodation
- Minimum 2 years studying at Brock University
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Empathy and commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
