Role Description The People and Culture Coordinator is a full time, on-site role based in Nanaimo, BC. This position supports the full employee lifecycle, including coordinating recruitment activities, assisting with onboarding and orientation, and maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation. The coordinator helps organize training and development initiatives, supports performance review processes, and contributes to employee engagement programs and recognition activities.

Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to employee inquiries, assisting with policy communication,



helping administer benefits and attendance tracking, and supporting health, safety, and wellness initiatives. The role works closely with People and Culture leadership to foster an inclusive, values-driven workplace and ensure consistent HR processes across the organization.

Qualifications

- Experience in HR coordination or administration, including recruitment support, onboarding, and maintaining employee records.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with HRIS or HR-related software, and solid skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and support an inclusive, collaborative workplace culture.
- Knowledge of basic employment standards and HR best practices, benefits administration or payroll an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; CPHR or working toward designation is an advantage.
