SPRCL is currently looking for an enthusiastic upbeat person for our Program Assistant position with South Peace Rural Community Learning for our office located in Sexsmith.
This position is part-time: approx. 18-22 hours/week. Flexible hours with the odd weekend or evening.
The office is closed for holidays throughout July and August, as well as during the Christmas break.
The Program Assistant will assist the SPRCL Team with the day-to-day operations of SPRCL programs, including:
- Provide assistance, information, referrals, and coaching to adult learners
- Providing one-on-one tutoring and drop-in learner support
- Assisting with Family and Adult Literacy programming
- Assisting with planning, coordinating, and marketing courses and special events
- Providing general office and administrative support
- Supporting community relations and promoting lifelong learning
- Assisting with small-group classes and other programming as required (Both adult and Family programming)
Qualifications:
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Email,
Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong Organizational & Communication Skills
- High School diploma
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in adult education, tutoring, literacy, or community programming is an asset
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector required
