Project Director - Permanent - 4295

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Project Director who can carry a large portfolio of work and lead a group of proven Project Managers who are hungry for bigger jobs than the ones they’ve been given (i.e. $100M+). Not a reporting layer above them; the person who sets the standard they deliver to, hands them real authority, and backs them publicly when a call goes sideways. You’ll be accountable for the whole portfolio commercially and operationally, while spending enough time on site that the field knows you by name rather than by title.

The reason the seat exists: our client has secured a single ICI project north of $600M in the Greater Toronto Area, and they aren’t treating it as a one-time peak. There’s genuine appetite for more work at this scale behind it. That makes this hire bigger than one project. The Project Director sets the delivery standard, builds the team that runs it, and shapes how the next jobs of this size get staffed. The search is being run deliberately rather than quickly for exactly that reason.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Executive accountability for a large-scale ICI project in the GTA, from preconstruction through closeout
- Reporting into senior leadership on a direct line, with no regional layer in between
- Building and leading the project team, PMs through coordinators, with real say in who joins and who moves on
- Owning the commercial relationship with the owner and consultant group; you’re the face of the project, not the person briefed on it afterward
- A seat in the conversation about which pursuits at this scale the firm goes after next

About You The successful candidate will have the following:





- You’ve held executive accountability on ICI work north of $100M in Ontario, and the buck genuinely stopped with you
- You’ve grown people into bigger seats, and you can name the ones you did it for
- You can hold a hard line with an owner without turning the job into a claims relationship
- You’ve seen what happens when a project this size gets staffed by people who’ve never run one, and you know how to stop it before it starts
