Major Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain all aspects of the Enhanced Food Safety Program and related documentation.
- Conduct regular plant-floor inspections during each shift to verify compliance with food safety policies, procedures, GMPs, and HACCP requirements.
- Conduct on-site verification of daily food safety records and paperwork. Report and follow up on any deviations.
- Verify sanitation and cleaning activities, including equipment, food-contact surfaces, utensils, and general housekeeping. Record and communicate any deficiencies.
- Verify compliance with prerequisite programs and HACCP plan requirements.
- Implement, monitor, and verify corrective and preventive actions related to food safety issues.
- Inspect incoming materials to verify compliance with SHFG specifications and food safety requirements.
- Participate in customer complaint investigations and implement or verify corrective actions where required.
- Conduct food safety coaching and counselling with employees and ensure required food safety training is completed and up to date.
- Escalate employee food safety or GMP performance concerns to management and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Perform environmental swabbing according to the established sampling schedule.
- Review, record, and interpret microbiological and other food safety testing results,
and escalate unacceptable results.
- Participate in GMP, food safety, and facility inspection audits and assist with follow-up actions.
- Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and maintain the required Daily GMP records.
- Perform and verify equipment calibration according to the established schedule.
- Verify sanitizer concentrations at the required frequency and ensure corrective action is taken when results are outside specifications.
- Prepare and submit the monthly Food Safety Status Report to the Food Safety Manager.
- Participate in management and team leader meetings and provide food safety updates as required.
- Complete performance assessments in conjunction with the Departmental Manager, where applicable.
- Monitor and promote compliance with food safety, cleanliness, food quality, personal hygiene, uniform, and organizational standards.
- Report food safety, GMP, hygiene, or quality violations to management and support appropriate corrective or disciplinary action.
- Work safely and ensure production employees follow applicable food safety and workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Support effective communication and cooperation between FSQA and production departments.
- Perform other QA/QC and food safety functions as assigned by the FSQA Manager.
- Perform other duties as required.
Position Requirements:
- Must be comfortable and able to to work in a temperature-controlled environment (2 to 4 degrees Celsius)
- Food Safety, GMP, and HACCP training is an asset
- Must possess degree, diploma, or certificate in a Food Safety or related programs
- Must have availability for a rotational work schedule of either morning or afternoon shifts (weekdays and weekends) - Hours may vary.
