Job Title: Quantum Technologies Consultant

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Canada & Saudi Arabia (Hybrid)

Industry: Banking & Financial Services

Confidentiality: Client details will be disclosed under NDA.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly adaptable Quantum Technologies Consultant for a 6-month engagement to work with a leading Tier-1 Saudi Bank to assess the operational and security impacts of quantum computing on the financial sector.

This role is ideal for a hands-on applied researcher with an entrepreneurial mindset—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can seamlessly juggle diverse technical and business requirements. You will serve as a crucial bridge between deep technical engineering and enterprise risk management, rolling up your sleeves to conduct data analysis, support software architecture assessments, and facilitate stakeholder discussions. If you excel at navigating complex legacy banking systems while applying cuttingedge cryptographic research, this hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to shape the quantum-readiness of a major financial institution.

Key Responsibilities:

As a multifaceted consultant, you will work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, cybersecurity, legal, and business units) to deliver on the following initiatives:

- Applied Research & Risk Assessment: Support the execution of a comprehensive enterprise-wide quantum risk assessment aligned with the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management framework. Help draft actionable mitigation plans addressing operational, legal, regulatory, and strategic risks (including workforce readiness) by Q1 2027.
- Asset Discovery & Classification:

Coordinate data collection and analysis efforts to finalize a precise cryptographic asset inventory by Q4 2026. This involves mapping data flows and classifying systems and services based on data sensitivity and priority for quantum-safe migration.
- Technical Architecture Analysis: Assess the current cryptographic agility (crypto-agility) of priority systems. Work alongside engineering teams to document technical constraints, evaluate third-party vendor dependencies, and contribute to the design of Post-Quantum Cryptography transition plans or compensatory controls.
- Stakeholder Facilitation & Reporting: Translate complex quantum concepts into actionable business intelligence. Prepare data, technical summaries, and briefings to help integrate quantum risk as a standing agenda item for the Information Security Steering Committee and the Board Risk Committee.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Academic Background: Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) with credentials from the University of Waterloo (ideally associated with the Institute for Quantum Computing - IQC ), or an equivalent leading academic institution with a strong focus on applied quantum technologies and cryptography.
- Applied Research & Industry Experience: Proven experience bridging applied research with real-world industry execution,

particularly within banking, fintech, or highly regulated corporate environments.
- Software & Architecture Skills: Solid grounding in Software Development and Enterprise Security Architecture. Ability to analyze complex IT infrastructures and understand the mechanics of integrating contemporary, crypto-agile solutions.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Demonstrated ability to multitask, self-manage, and pivot between highly technical data analysis and high-level business stakeholder management.
- Banking Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulatory standards, enterprise risk management, and the operational mechanics of banking institutions.
- Work Setup: Flexibility to travel to Saudi Arabia for key on-site workshops and data-gathering phases, with the ability to execute remaining deliverables remotely.
