Title: R&D; Chemist - Formulation Support & Stability Testing

Reports to: Supervisor – Formulation Support & Stability Testing The Formulation Support & Stability Testing Chemist assists in the development of new pharmaceutical dosage forms in addition to improving existing products and procedures. This position works with the Formulation Support & Stability Testing Team to conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests on raw materials and R&D; samples: in-process, finished product, stability, pre-formulation, etc., and reports the test results. Thus, maintains laboratory notebooks according to current good laboratory and current good laboratory practices.

Prepares chemical reagents and standards following standardized formulas or experimental procedures, sets up and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests.

Key job responsibilities and duties:

- Performs activities in the analytical laboratory area to support the development of new products and analytical methodologies per departmental SOP’s and ICH guidelines.
- Perform testing on release, experimental and stability samples using both methods under development and validated methods as per departmental SOP’s and GMP guidelines.
- Ensures that all analytical activities meet good laboratory practices.
- Monitors, maintains and calibrates analytical equipment.
- Checks the availability of chemicals, reagents, apparatus, HPLC columns, solvents, etc.

- Supports internal projects and external Contract Manufacturing Organization projects in alignment with Biolab’s objectives and initiatives.
- Ensures all analytical activities meet good laboratory practices and company’s policies.

Education and experience requirements:

- Master of Science or Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in Pharmacy, Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
- More than one year of relevant hands-on pharmaceutical experience in product development or Quality Control.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and experience of analytical chemistry by successfully operating analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, UV/Vis, GC, dissolution apparatus. Experience with Chromeleon software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
- Highly motivated and have the skills to handle multiple projects and prioritize the work.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required
