Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving
- Inspect and receive incoming shipments and verify contents against shipping records.
- Identify and communicate damages, shortages and non-conformance issues.
- Post incoming shipments into the company ERP system.
- Ensure products and materials are stored in the appropriate inventory or production locations.
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks or manual material handling.
- Regularly handle materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area.
Inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for stock items, metals, office supplies, shipping supplies and warehouse materials.
- Monitor and communicate inventory shortages and overages.
- Prepare monthly inventory reports and support replenishment requirements.
- Label and warehouse inventory for future use.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory quantities and storage locations.
- Follow inventory control procedures designed to reduce damage, breakage and obsolete inventory.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual physical inventory counts.
- Reconcile physical inventory against system records.
- Investigate and communicate missing inventory or discrepancies.
- Maintain clean and organized inventory storage areas.
Job and Order Fulfillment
- Determine materials required based on production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders and requisitions.
- Fill work orders, material requests and requisitions and distribute required items to production teams and projects.
- Pick customer orders from inventory or production in preparation for shipping.
- Update the ERP system to accurately reflect inventory movements.
- Maintain an organized production bin area.
Operations and General
- Ensure materials and items are properly consumed against work orders.
- Close completed work orders within the company system.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve productivity and operating processes.
- Maintain professional communication with colleagues, managers, customers and suppliers.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment while working within the production facility.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–3 years of warehouse and inventory experience.
- Experience maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems.
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Valid forklift licence.
- Knowledge of international shipping, logistics and Incoterms is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize work, establish priorities and complete assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong team-oriented approach.
- Ability to regularly lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Hourly Rate: $28–$29 per hour
