We are currently seeking a friendly, customer-oriented Reception - Retail & Events Support associate to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, supporting events in our trading area, handling front desk duties, and ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations. Shift: Varied – Schedule to include day, evening and week-end shifts

This post is for an existing contract vacancy and is actively being recruited for.

Job Purpose: The Reception – Retail & Events Support Associate is the front-line representative of the Company responsible for greeting and welcoming customers to the establishment. Answer, screen, forward and take messages for any incoming phone calls from multiple lines while providing basic information when needed. Daily operation of the POS system and running cash/debit/ credit transactions and ensure that all receptionist responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

This position will also work closely with the Events team, offering hands-on support to ensure smooth operations and successful outcomes for events held throughout our trading area.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Serve as the front-line representative of the company by greeting customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and directing them to appropriate showroom areas.
- Provide reception coverage, including answering, screening, and directing incoming calls and inquiries.
- Enter sales orders and invoices, transcribe sales notes, and process transactions using Simply Accounting and POS systems.
- Count cash, manage opening/closing floats, and balance daily sales.
- Collect and process customer payments accurately and in a timely manner.




- Communicate with customers and warehouse staff to coordinate merchandise pickup and deliveries.
- Collaborate with the Events Coordinator on event planning and execution, including scheduling deliveries, setup, and teardown.
- Set up, maintain, and dismantle booths, tents, and product displays at various venues.
- Prepare featured products and accessory displays for events in collaboration with the warehouse team.
- Organize, stock, and maintain event bins, equipment, and supplies according to established checklists.
- Clean and maintain event equipment, vehicles, warehouse event spaces, and designated areas to company standards.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking BBQ inventory, rentals, and donations.
- Provide support to the warehouse team, including organizing stock and ensuring accurate inventory returns.
- Assist with product sales during events and engage customers through interactive activities, promotions, and information gathering.
- Support branding and marketing efforts through social media content creation and engagement.
- Maintain showroom and reception cleanliness, including dusting, organizing products, and general housekeeping.
- Perform administrative duties such as filing, shredding, pricing updates, merchandising, spreadsheet creation, and daily reception tasks.
- Work closely with administrative and sales teams to support operational needs.
- Track and sell tickets for cooking classes and related programs.
- Provide general warehouse support when not attending events.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and in varying weather conditions.
- Perform additional duties as required to support organizational goals.

Education and Experience:

- Must have a High School Diploma
- Completion or near completion of a college diploma in Business, Advertising, or Marketing.
- Previous experience in event coordination, marketing,



or administrative support (including volunteer or academic projects) is considered an asset.
- Valid Smart Serve and Food Handling/Safety certifications is considered an asset.
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Requires capability to work at heights; appropriate training will be supplied.
- Physical ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during events.
