Location: Nova’s Ark – On-site

Wage: CA$39.00 per hour

We provide early intervention and therapeutic services aligned with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), emphasizing collaboration, dignity, and family-centred care.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) who will provide assessment, consultation, and intervention services to children and youth (up to 18 years of age) and their families through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP). The OT will work collaboratively with families, interdisciplinary team members, and community partners to support participation, regulation, functional skills, and overall well-being in accordance with OAP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments using standardized and functional tools in a natural and therapeutic approach
- Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented intervention plans aligned with OAP requirements
- Support children and youth with sensory processing, self-regulation, fine motor, daily living, and functional participation skills
- Provide caregiver coaching, education, and consultation using a family-centred approach
- Complete OAP documentation accurately, thoroughly, and within required timelines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in care planning, case conferences, and progress reviews
- Provide guidance and support to support staff as required
- Maintain professional standards in accordance with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Uphold Nova’s Ark’s values, policies, and commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural humility
- Provide support during crisis situations, including approved physical intervention strategies when required and trained
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Experience working with children and youth with autism and developmental differences preferred
- Knowledge of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) considered a strong asset
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification (or willing to obtain)
