About The Role The Restaurant Manager is a pivotal role at The Colley Hotel, a dynamic multi-faceted hospitality venue located in the heart of Glenelg, SA. The Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operations of the hotel restaurant, with a focus on exceptional customer service and efficient management of the team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient and smooth service
- Recruit, lead, train, mentor and supervise front of house staff
- Prepare staff rosters and manage labor costs to maximise operational efficiency
- Deliver outstanding customer service and professionally resolve customer feedback and complaints
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), liquor licensing requirements and company policies.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies and maintain solid supplier relationships
- Manage budgets, control food and beverage costs and improve profitability
- Monitor sales performance and implement initiatives to increase revenue and customer satisfaction
- Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain exceptional food quality, presentation and service standards
- Prepare operational and financial reports for senior management
- Assist with marketing initiatives, promotions and community engagement activities
- Foster a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar Restaurant Manager role within the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with guests and staff at all levels
- Proficient in using hotel management software and point-of-sale systems, H&L; system
- Thorough understanding of hotel operations, including high-quality customer service, food and beverage
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions to resolve issues
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
