Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Rodbusters to work at our various project sites. The successful candidates will work on a rotational schedule in a remote work camp environment.
SCOPE
- Place and secure rebar on tunnel construction cast-in-place concrete.
- Identify the different sizes, lengths, and bend types of rebar.
- Perform physical work, such as packing, tying, and cutting rebar with specialty tools for the trade and placing rebar chairs appropriately.
- Read and interpret detail sheets and drawings.
- Must be safety conscious and follow all LMS safety protocols.
- May be required to labour with other operations.
- Participating in daily toolbox talks.
- Reviewing and preparing daily Field Level Hazard Assessments.
- Participating in weekly safety meetings.
- Advising supervision of unsafe conditions or acts that may be dangerous to oneself and other workers.
- Read, interpret, and act on instructions from supervision
- Ensuring tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
- Reporting all incidents/accidents, including “near misses.”
REQUIREMENTS
- Five years’ rebar experience.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Able to use hands and frequent movement of wrists for long periods of time (tying and twisting).
- Able to learn quickly and keep up with tight schedules.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Able to complete physically demanding work with significant periods of standing, kneeling and tying metal.
