Overview

Extremely busy metal recycler requires full time class 3 driver for work through out the Lower Mainland. Early mornings (6:30 AM) a must and frequent overtime available. Successful applicant will be driving well maintained Peterbilts, both single and tandem axle. with state of the art Ampliroll hook lift systems.

Driver will service both roll off bins and small shop bins using flatdecks. Driver needs to be flexible, willing to WORK, and understand the give and take of in town driving. Driver must also understand that we are a customer driven business which means the customer comes first.

Applicant should possess common sense and be able to problem solve on the fly to ensure job is done efficiently and safely.

Duties

- Operate hook-lift trucks to pick up and deliver various size bins at designated locations.
- Driving hours from 6:30 AM to finish, depending on work load. Driving can finish anywhere from 2:30-5:30 PM.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials, maintaining safety standards throughout the process.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition and reporting of any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance. This includes clear,



legible printing in English.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding schedules and any issues that may arise during routes.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving on designated routes.

Skills

- Proficient in operating both single & tandem hook-lift style trucks.
- Strong truck driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency in route driving.
- Familiarity with freight handling, loading, and unloading procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when necessary.
- Previous driving experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.
- Physically fit with ability to climb on loads as necessary to ensure compliance and safety

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:
- class 3 driving: 2 years (required)
