Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Performance Analyst / Systems Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI development, data modelling, SQL, Excel, business analysis, and performance reporting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining intuitive, agile, and scalable dashboards and reporting solutions that enable leadership and business users to effectively understand and self-serve their data.

This role requires a strong understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), requirements gathering, data integration, solution development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a business-minded data specialist who can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, work with data from multiple enterprise and third-party systems, and transform complex or ambiguous reporting requirements into practical, scalable, and decision-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Analysis &
- Performance Reporting
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into reporting and technical specifications.
- Understand business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and reporting optimization.
- Design, develop, and maintain intuitive Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and trend analysis for leadership and business users.
- Develop ad-hoc analysis and structured recurring reports to support business decision-making.
- Establish reporting standards, KPI definitions, and data governance practices.
- Partner with PMO, Finance, I⁢, data teams, application teams, and other stakeholders to understand and integrate reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain end-user documentation, technical documentation, and developer guides.
- Power BI &
- Data Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports using DAX, Power Query/M, data modelling, and semantic models.
- Build efficient reporting models using dimensional modelling, facts, dimensions, and star-schema principles.
- Optimize existing Power BI reports, datasets, and data models for performance, usability, and scalability.
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace management, security, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot data refresh, DAX, data model, and reporting issues.
- Support and enhance existing Power BI solutions in production.
- Data Integration &
- Solution Development
- Work with data from multiple enterprise and third-party applications, including platforms such as ServiceNow, EcoSys, Jira, and similar systems.
- Analyze source systems and design appropriate data structures and integration approaches for reporting.




- Integrate and model data from multiple systems and data sources.
- Collaborate with data engineers, application developers, and BI teams to source, exchange, and validate data.
- Work with technologies including SQL, Azure Data Lake, Dataverse, APIs, and cloud-based data services as required.
- Identify data quality issues and implement appropriate controls and remediation approaches.
- Existing Solution Support &
- Continuous Improvement
- Quickly understand and support existing applications, reports, data models, reporting ecosystems, and business processes.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Evaluate existing reporting and data solutions to identify opportunities for automation and performance improvement.
- Improve data quality and reduce manual reporting processes.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for reporting and automation solutions.
- Data Migration &
- Platform Transition
- Analyze source and target data structures and develop data mapping, migration strategies, and templates.
- Support migration of reporting data and business processes when applications or platforms change.
- Validate migrated data and ensure business reporting requirements remain intact throughout the transition.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies associated with migration and platform transitions.
- Testing, Deployment &
- Documentation
- Develop and execute UAT, regression testing, and production validation scenarios.
- Support reporting releases and post-production validation.
- Collaborate with developers, business users, and technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Maintain business, technical, data, testing, and solution documentation.
- Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, reliable, secure, and aligned with business requirements.

and access controls Required Power Apps and Power Automate Required Advanced Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA/macros where applicable Required Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Required Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies Required Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience integrating data from APIs, cloud-based data services, enterprise applications, and third-party systems.
- Experience with project and portfolio management platforms such as Asana, Microsoft Project, or similar enterprise PM systems.
- Experience with PMO, project portfolio, financial, or operational performance reporting.
- Understanding of project status, risks, financials, milestones, and resource reporting.
- Experience working across multiple BI, data, or development teams on shared reporting models, datasets, workspaces, and enterprise data sources.
- Python or other scripting experience for data analysis, automation, or data processing.
- Previous public sector experience is considered an asset.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a Senior Systems/Performance Analyst and Power BI specialist who combines strong technical data skills with business analysis and stakeholder management capabilities. Candidates should be able to independently analyze complex business and reporting requirements, work across multiple data sources and technical teams, troubleshoot existing solutions, and develop scalable reporting solutions that improve decision-making, automation, data quality, and operational efficiency.
