About the Role

We are looking for an Inside Sales Representative who enjoys solving problems and delivering practical solutions for customers. You will combine sales skills with developing technical and product knowledge to support existing accounts, identify recent opportunities, prepare estimates and quotations, and help ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on schedule.

What You’ll Do

Customer and Sales Support

- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally, providing product information, practical solutions, and referrals to other teams when appropriate.
- Take and process product orders, assist customers with product selections, and help resolve customer concerns.
- Develop strong knowledge of AIL products, applications, and differentiating features.
- Support the Sales Manager and Technical Sales Team as required.
- Share relevant customer feedback and market information with Sales, Marketing, Production, and other departments.

Prospecting and Lead Management

- Identify prospective customers and sales opportunities through online bid searches, outbound prospecting, inbound inquiries, and other lead sources.




- Follow up on leads with support from the Sales Manager.
- Monitor existing accounts for growth, expansion, and emerging opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity records in the company’s CRM and related systems.
- Contribute to sales strategies and annual revenue goals.

Estimating and Tender Support

- Review project tender documents, drawings, specifications, and other relevant information.
- Prepare, submit, and follow up on budget estimates and quotations for customers, owners, and consultants.
- Support direct sales for small public tenders and privately negotiated projects.
- Participate in project risk and opportunity evaluations with the Sales Manager.
- Assist with negotiations involving agreements, change orders, and contracts.

Order and Logistics Coordination

- Arrange transportation, negotiate freight pricing, and coordinate deliveries with carriers.
- Work with manufacturing teams and internal departments to keep customer orders on schedule.
- Communicate order and delivery updates to customers and address issues as they arise.
- Provide backup support for project coordination activities when required.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify recurring customer issues and trends.
- Recommend process improvements that strengthen customer service and internal sales operations.
- Participate in ongoing product, sales, and technical learning.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Occasional travel may be required for site walks and pre-tender meetings.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

- A motivated, dependable approach and commitment to completing tasks.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A strong understanding of sales and marketing processes.

Assets

- Experience using an enterprise resource planning or customer relationship management system.
- Education in civil engineering technology, business management, or a related field.
- Previous experience selling civil construction, industrial, or technical products.
- Experience preparing estimates, quotations, or tender submissions.

Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
