Martech Motor Winding Ltd. is looking to immediately hire a detail orientated person to join our Sand Blasting and Painting Team at our Castlegar, BC operation! This opportunity would be to gain valuable hands-on experience that, for the right candidate, could lead to additional opportunities or training in our welding and fabrication shop.

Martech Motor Winding is a Fabrication and Paint Shop that has supported industrial, commercial, and residential clients throughout the West Kootenays and BC Interior for over 30 years. Our current operation includes a 10,000+ sq. ft. fabrication shop, a 60ft sandblast bay and a 50ft heated paint booth. We offer additional services in the structural steel, on-site welding, lead abatement, architectural steel, aluminum and stainless.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Sandblasting various steel components and projects to SSPC & NACE standards
- Cleaning and prepping for Paint
- Painting various projects to specific DFT criteria
- Shop Labour in paint and fabrication shop
- Welding training available for the right candidate
- Complete daily inspections & pre-trips on equipment and vehicles
- Load & offload delivery trucks
- Deliver & pickup material from field job sites
- Forklift operation (training provided)
- Maintain shop & yard housekeeping
- Abide by OH&S; and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures




- Other labour duties as required by the division

Job Details:

- Full time Position available immediately
- The role is based out of our 1700 Woodland Drive, Castlegar BC facility
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM (40 hours a week) with OT and Weekend work as required
- Benefits are available through the IBEW Local#1003 Martech Motor Winding Agreement
- Pay to be based on experience/training/education

Job Requirements:

- Valid Class 5 driver’s license abstract required
- Ability to drive a manual transmission is required
- Work experience in an industrial setting is considered an asset
- Previous forklift operation experience is considered an asset
- Physically fit with ability to work both indoors and outdoors year-round as required
- Must be safety orientated in all aspects of the work being undertaken
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
