• Design (AMPD), develops and implements revenue generating strategies and programs that identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic donations from alumni, faculty/school, staff, and friends. The role reports to the Assistant Vice-President, Development &

• Campaigns, and is part of the central Advancement leadership team which is dedicated to fulfilling the philanthropic goals of York University. The role also jointly reports to the Dean and is the Advancement representative serving the Dean to achieve the faculty development and alumni goals. This role individually raises philanthropic dollars through 1:1 engagement and collaboratively works with their development upline to acquire transformational gifts.This portfolio is expected to raise $1M -$1.5M annually with incremental increases overtime.



This role raises funds for the School's priority needs including, student support, capital, programming, and research in alignment with the University Academic Plan (UAP) and its Strategic Plan of AMPD. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline. Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets, and estates. Knowledge of post-secondary student services, student support programs, and student access/retention, particularly with respect to under-represented demographics. Effective writing skills for a university fundraising setting. Attention to detail, high standards for quality, ability to balance risk, university policies and donor intent. Effective communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in a concise creative, and persuasive manner. Effective project management,



prioritization, and time-management skills to manage multiple on-going projects simultaneously. Competency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications, fundraising and prospect management databases and Internet skills. Ability to provide project leadership to individuals with diverse interests and objectives. Ability to meet goals at the School's level while fulfilling the needs of the development team. Able to work effectively with senior volunteers and senior organizational leadership. Regular travel for meetings, conferences, and events. Occasional travel outside of the GTA and Canada may be required for engagement of international donors and alumni. York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.
