Full-Time Bar Security – Iqaluit, Nunavut The Chartroom Bar is looking for a dependable, confident, and professional individual to join our team as full-time security.

This is a customer-facing role in a busy bar environment. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming atmosphere while monitoring the premises, checking identification, enforcing house policies, and calmly handling issues when they arise.

For someone interested in working in Canada’s North, this position includes employer-covered travel, accommodation, and meals.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the entrance and check identification
- Conduct bag checks when required
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws and house policies
- Monitor the bar, washrooms, entrances, and nearby outdoor areas
- Identify and address unsafe or disruptive behaviour
- Calmly de-escalate conflicts and remove patrons when necessary
- Work closely with bartenders and management to resolve concerns
- Respond appropriately to medical incidents, alarms, and emergencies




- Assist patrons professionally while maintaining clear boundaries
- Help create a secure, respectful, and welcoming environment

What We’re Looking For
- Previous security, bar security, law-enforcement, or related experience is preferred
- Calm, confident, and professional under pressure
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Good judgment and awareness of your surroundings
- Able to stand for extended periods and respond quickly when needed
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it
- Required security certification or licensing, where applicable
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

We are looking for someone who understands that good security is about preventing problems, treating people respectfully, and knowing when firm action is required. Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $20.17 per hour
