Senior Financial Analyst – 2 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-routine journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, payroll, intercompany activity, and reclassifications.
- Prepare timely and accurate balance-sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
- Maintain clear supporting documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate unusual balances and period-over-period variances.
- Partner with AP, AR, payroll, FP&A;, tax, and operational teams to obtain close inputs and resolve accounting issues.
- Support internal and external audit requests with schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve close timelines, reconciliation quality, documentation, and controls.
- Assist with financial reporting, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed.
- Support and mentor junior accounting team members where applicable.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience working with accounting systems or ERPs such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.
