Project Manager (IT) – Senior (JP0993)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Work arrangement: Primarily remote within Canada, with onsite meetings in Edmonton up to 3–4 times per month

Contract: 1 year, with extension up to 6 months

Hours: 36.25 hours per week The Senior IT Project Manager will lead complex enterprise initiatives, coordinating project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, governance, vendors, and stakeholder communications. The successful candidate will work with business and IT leadership, enterprise architecture, delivery teams, and the project management office.

Responsibilities

- Develop project charters, business and project plans, schedules, work plans, requirements documentation, and status reporting.
- Manage multiple complex projects, budgets, resources, milestones, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate business requirements, IT solution design, delivery, and alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Establish governance structures, roles, responsibilities, RACI models, and RAID processes.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and present project status and recommendations to steering committees and senior management.
- Manage vendors, external service providers, change-management activities, communications, and project outcomes.
- Apply Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies and support continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

- PMP certification.




- University degree plus at least 8 years of project-management experience; two-year diploma plus 10 years; one-year certificate plus 11 years; or 12 years of project-management experience.
- 15 years developing project schedules and strategies, estimating resources, and monitoring work plans.
- 15 years identifying, analyzing, and managing risks on large, complex projects.
- 5 years implementing cloud-based projects or services with large-scale cloud providers.
- Must perform the work from within Canada and attend Edmonton meetings with reasonable notice.
- Candidate must provide their own computer and equipment; Windows is preferred for Azure Virtual Desktop compatibility.

Preferred Qualifications

- 10 years leading enterprise-scale Agile and Waterfall projects and programs.
- Experience with governance, RACI, RAID, vendor management, and executive stakeholder alignment.
- Public-sector experience.
- Security, privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity experience.
- Experience implementing AI projects and services in large organizations.
- Robust process-improvement, documentation, requirements-gathering, communication, and presentation experience.
