The Senior Infrastructure
Engineeris responsible fordesigning and leading the delivery of customer infrastructure solutions within the qualified services organization. This role develops implementation plans, mentors delivery engineers, and ensures successful project execution. To be successful in this role, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer must have astrong work ethic and a hands-on approach to customer interaction and time management.
Robust interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach are essential. Lead architectural design and planning for customer projects. Develop deployment plans and technical documentation for mid-level engineers.
Review and approve deployments performed by mid-level engineers. Collaborate with project managers and customers to align solutions with requirements. Participate in customer architecture discussions and technical reviews.
Travel
Requirements ~ Ability to travel up to 45% of the time for post-sales implementation at customer sites. Minimum 7 years of experience in an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT environment.
Ability to positively influence customers by proactivelyidentifyingpotential issues and steering them toward effective solutions.
Experience with physical installation of rack-mounted equipment, including labeling, documentation, and cable management. Ability to troubleshoot configuration, software, and infrastructure problems using advanced tools (Wireshark, WindowsSysinternals, Fiddler,Netcat).
Experience with networking/distributed computing technologies and services (DNS, L2/L3 networking, DHCP, VLANs, routing, VPN). Ability to develop and recommend innovative, automated, and scalable solutions to both non-technical and technical audiences. Extensive experience creating andmaintainingtechnical documentation (rack elevations, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, site surveys, audit reports).
Ability to travel to customer locations for onsite support or hardware installations. Willingness towork offhours for planned maintenance, project implementations, or unplanned emergencies. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience remotely administering medium or larger-sized data center environments. Scripting experience in commonly used languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Perl) is a plus. Familiarity with Dell/EMC Storage Solutions, particularlyPower Protect Data Manager, Data Domain.
