Role Description The Senior Legal Assistant will provide advanced support to lawyers, promarily in Family Law, but also in our Wills and Estates and Corporate/Commercial proactice, managing complex files and coordinating day-to-day administrative and legal tasks.

Responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing and maintaining physical and electronic files, managing calendars, scheduling appointments and court dates, and tracking deadlines. The role involves communicating with clients, court offices, and other third parties,



as well as coordinating the flow of information and ensuring documents are complete and accurate. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB.

Qualifications

5 years of

- experience working as a Legal Assistant or Senior Legal Assistant in a law firm or legal environment.
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and filing legal documents with courts and agencies.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear written correspondence, professional telephone etiquette, and client-facing interaction.
- Demonstrated Administrative Assistance skills, such as calendar management, file organization, data entry, and document management in a rapid-paced setting.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office, legal practice management software, and accurate typing.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Post-secondary education in Legal Administration, Paralegal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Manitoba court procedures and local rules is an asset.
