Senior Network Security Architect – Cisco Firepower / Azure

Location: Remote – Anywhere in Canada

Work Arrangement: Remote / Hybrid / On-site as required

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST

Travel: Saskatchewan travel required as needed

Duration: 1 year

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Network Security Architect / Consultant to join the Information Security Operations team supporting enterprise network security across on-premises data centers and hybrid cloud environments.

This is a senior SME-level position focused on network security architecture, Cisco security platforms, firewall governance, segmentation, Zero Trust, Azure security, incident response, and security architecture review .

The successful candidate will act as a trusted security advisor to infrastructure, cloud, architecture, and security teams and will provide both strategic architecture guidance and deep technical expertise across enterprise network security controls.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and provide governance for enterprise network security controls across Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), Cisco FMC, LINA, and SNORT .
- Manage and provide security expertise for Cisco FTD VPN and remote access solutions.
- Configure, review, tune, and troubleshoot firewall policies, IPS/IDS signatures, traffic inspection policies, and security controls.
- Provide network security representation and technical guidance through Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes.
- Review network and application architectures for security, segmentation, zoning, and enterprise standards compliance.
- Provide secure architecture and design recommendations based on Zero Trust principles .
- Design and secure hybrid environments integrating on-premises infrastructure with Microsoft Azure .
- Apply Azure networking and security controls including VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall,



Application Gateway, IAM, PAM, Conditional Access, and RBAC .
- Support network security integration involving Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and virtualized networking/security technologies.
- Perform network traffic analysis, packet analysis, threat investigation, and security telemetry analysis.
- Lead or support network security incident response, including containment, root cause analysis, and remediation.
- Identify network security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and control gaps and recommend remediation.
- Support vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security validation activities.
- Contribute to disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) planning from a network security perspective.
- Review and assess F5 load-balancing and traffic-flow configurations .
- Develop and maintain network security architecture documentation, standards, procedures, and technical recommendations.
- Act as a senior subject matter expert and trusted advisor across security, infrastructure, cloud, and architecture teams.

Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressively responsible hands-on IT experience .
- 8+ years of direct network security experience in network security engineering, architecture, operations, enterprise firewall engineering/administration, or secure network design.
- Strong enterprise experience with Cisco Firepower / FTD / FMC .
- Strong understanding of firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPN, DNS/web security, network segmentation, zoning, and Zero Trust .




- Enterprise network security architecture and security governance experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure networking and security , particularly hybrid environments.
- Solid troubleshooting, traffic analysis, incident response, and security investigation capabilities.
- Ability to participate in architecture and security design reviews and communicate recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- At least one active professional/expert-level certification from the approved certification list, including CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCIE Security, CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, JNCIE-SEC, CCSE, approved Palo Alto certifications, or qualifying Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada.
- Must be available to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST, Monday–Friday .
- Must be willing and able to travel within Saskatchewan as required.
