We're partnering with a leading high-frequency trading firm to hire a Senior Software Engineer for their Core Engineering team in Montreal.

You'll work on the high-performance systems that power algorithmic trading strategies globally, building and optimising infrastructure where latency, performance and reliability are critical .

This is an opportunity to work alongside exceptional engineers on sophisticated trading technology, with a strong focus on C++, Linux, systems programming and low-latency engineering .

What you'll be doing

- Design and implement high-frequency trading platforms connecting to exchanges globally.
- Build systems for collecting market data and disseminating orders to exchanges.
- Optimise performance through network programming, systems programming and advanced low-latency techniques.
- Develop infrastructure providing access to historical market data and trading simulations.
- Build tools to analyse market data and identify patterns.
- Develop risk-management and performance-tracking systems.
- Contribute to the technical direction and growth of the Core Engineering team.

What we're looking for

- Strong experience with C++ and object-oriented programming.




- Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Working knowledge of Linux and systems programming.
- Experience with another programming language such as Python, Java, Perl or Shell is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another technical discipline.
- Financial or trading experience is not required.
