Why is this role important?
The Senior UX Analyst/Senior User Experience Researcher plans and conducts CIHI’s user research and testing, delivering timely, data-driven insights to enhance the user experience of digital products and services. This role plans and executes both qualitative and quantitative UX research activities, analyses data, and communicates actionable findings to inform design and product decisions.
The Senior
Analyst also contributes to the development and maturation of UX research standards, frameworks, and strategies across the organization.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute UX discovery phases including user research, workshop design and facilitation, solution evaluation, and heuristic assessments.
- Develop detailed research plans by defining objectives and selecting appropriate methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, card sorting, tree testing, heuristic evaluations, and benchmarking studies.
- Conduct a variety of UX research activities including moderated and unmoderated remote evaluations using tools like Teams, Loop11, Optimal Workshop, and Questback.
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research data and results using tools such as MS Excel, SPSS, R Studio, and NVIVO; produce transparent, concise research reports and presentations.
- Create and maintain product personas aligned with CIHI’s Persona Framework and maintain centralized user data and survey question banks.
- Support the development and implementation of UX research and testing strategies, standards, guidelines, and templates.
- Participate in the evolution of CIHI’s digital measurement initiatives, including UX scorecards.
- Advocate for user research within projects and promote research findings organization-wide.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional agile teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
What you'll bring to the table
- Undergraduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Data Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 3-5 years experience planning, conducting, analysing, and presenting UX research, including usability testing and evaluation of digital solutions.
- Experience with statistical data analysis and qualitative research tools.
- Strong knowledge of UX research methods, standards, and best practices.
- Skilled in evaluating early-stage design prototypes and advanced testing techniques.
- Excellent organizational, project management, communication, presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Experience with Google Analytics and Hotjar is an asset.
