Overview
As the Manager, Guest Experience / Bar Manager at Montana's BBQ & Bar, you will assist the General Manager, Guest Experience with driving guests to the restaurant and ensuring they come back. You will help lead the day-to-day management of the restaurant as part of the leadership team, sharing accountability for both financial and non-financial performance. As a developing leader, you will progress through our Restaurant Leadership Certification Program, building the skills to run both the front and back of house and lead shifts to brand standard.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the energy of the team and maintain a great guest experience by quickly and effectively resolving guest complaints
- Ensure all operating procedures, standards, and controls are adhered to, and respond to changing volume patterns
- Support the General Manager, Guest Experience in managing daily restaurant operations, including reporting, legislative compliance, and measuring KPIs
- Help develop action plans to improve guest satisfaction, and coach the team to consistently deliver quality food, beverages, and an inviting atmosphere
- Train, coach, and develop team members, and help build a culture of recognition and engagement
- Help improve profit and loss performance, manage labour budgets, and support marketing and sales initiatives
- Maintain food quality and safety standards, safe food handling practices, and inventory controls
- Maintain opening and closing procedures, complete daily checklists, and implement new menu and promotional rollouts
- Follow cash handling and control procedures, and conduct facility and equipment maintenance
- Ensure compliance with provincial employment, health and safety, and responsible alcohol service regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospitality setting
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of point of sale systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities
- Effective numeric, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in business software, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Supervisory and management skills
- Strong mediation and facilitation skills, with the ability to multi-task and maintain high energy
Physical Requirements
- Majority of time spent standing in a restaurant environment
- Regularly required to walk, use hands and fingers, and talk and hear
- Occasionally lift boxes and other restaurant service equipment
- Occasionally respond to and de-escalate upset guests
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate
- Fort Saskatchewan, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Restaurant Manager: 1 year (required)
