Compensation Package of $45.00 - 60.00 per Billable Hour
Rate of Pay is based on the Billable Shop Hours You Achieve
Positions across the Lower Mainland (Abbotsford, Burnaby, North Vancouver)
We are hiring experienced Outdoor Power Equipment technicians for our service shops throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. You can earn up to $60.00 for every billable hour you produce.
Compensation
- $45-60.00 per billable hour
- Full-time, year-round work
- Earnings track productivity: a tech averaging 6.5–7.5 billable hours per day is in a strong pay range
- Hours worked are still subject to B.C. Employment Standards (minimum wage floor of $18.25/hr if billed hours are low)
The work Diagnose, repair, service, and assemble outdoor power equipment, including:
- Gas and battery handhelds (saws, blowers, trimmers, hedge)
- Walk-behind and zero-turn mowers
- Robotic mowers
- Snow plows and salters
- PDI / setup of new units
You will complete work orders accurately, document parts and labour, and keep quality and safety standards high.
What we need
- Proven OPE / small-engine / power-equipment repair experience
- Must supply your own tools
- Valid Class 5 licence and reliable transportation between Lower Mainland shops if required
- Ability to work independently and hit billable-hour targets
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Clear communication and clean work habits
- Comfortable with gas, battery, and basic electrical diagnostics
Asset: experience with Stihl, Kress, Toro, Echo, Husqvarna, or snow brands (Boss, Western, SnowEx, Fisher, Meyer, SnowDogg).
Schedule and locations
- Shop-based service work
- Positions available at our Lower Mainland service locations
- Typical weekday shop hours (confirm site at hire)
As a service technician you will:
Perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience performing service repairs on small engine equipment, 2 cycle and 4 cycle engines.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures
- Ability to use a computer and perform basic computer functions as well as use related software for diagnosis -Ability to operate vehicles and equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of OPE.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to read schematics and equipment manuals
- Ability to lift at least 50 LBS repeatedly
- Valid driver’s license with a reasonable abstract is required
- Forklift license preferred
Job Duties: -Always adhere to established safe working procedures and wear proper safety equipment.
-Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency in repairing, maintaining and diagnosing equipment within the scope of training.
-Complete accurate parts ordering for jobs assigned for repair.
-Ensure paperwork applicable to the role and jobs performed is completed accurately and timely.
-Keep abreast of technology as applicable to the role and as required by the company.
-Perform or assist with administration duties such as timesheet completion, inspections of equipment and technical support for others on the team.
